Do you offer custom commissioned pieces?

At this time we do not offer custom commissioned pieces.

 

 

How do I buy your products?

We're a wee workshop and have our cracker jack team of tech gnomes update the website as often as their able (typically once a month).

We share collection launches and offerings updates on our social media as well as through our email newsletter and recommend subscribing or following us to stay up to date.

* As we are a small studio creating handmade works of art we're likely to sell out quickly during collection launches, by following our shop and/or signing up for updates you have the best chance of acquiring what you desire.

 

What Materials do you use?

Critters of the Cove Our adoptable critters (figures) are each and every one unique. They are our original character designs, first sketched, then 3D sculpted and further created using specialty software. Our critters are a mixture of 3D print (in assorted high quality resins) and other multi media bit and bobs, with each and every critter of The Cove being hand finished with assorted mediums and nifty add ons such as: quality model paints, nature findings/preserved flora, cast resin elements, glass eyes, gemstones, crystals, glow pigments, moss etc.

Wax Seals Selkie Cove's wax seals are made from traditional letter sealing wax and backed with double sided 3m adhesive stickers for easy application (pick and stick as you please). Wax seals may also include other elements such as: gold/silver leaf, nature findings/preserved flora, mica pigments, crystal, moss etc.

Jewelry Our Jewelry may include additional elements such as: natural gem stones, glass, crystals, assorted beads, nature findings (preserved flora), pearls, assorted resin(s), polymer clay, etc. *Please check individual item listings for information on which elements/finishes are available for the particular piece(s) you desire.

Metal(s) Selkie Cove utilizes high quality stainless and surgical steel metals in all our jewelry, including both stainless and 18K gold plated finish.

We prefer working with stainless steel for both it’s finish and overall durability. Not only is it considered generally hypoallergenic, stainless steel wears well, resists rust/tarnishing and is fairly simple to care for.

Preserved flora The plants used in our preserved floral offerings (including Wild & Free) are REAL plants that have been homegrown, found, foraged, and lovingly preserved. This means each and every piece is unique in nature, please keep this in mind when ordering as each piece will have it's own distinct characteristics and character.

Selkie Cove utilizes high quality preservation methods including both pressed and dynamic dehydration, colour stabilization and colour correction. We also use high quality finishing materials including (but not limited to): UV and epoxy resins and assorted finish sealants to help create and safeguard your precious piece.

Gemstone  Selkie Coves gemstone offerings are created using a wide assortment of crystals and gems, many of which have been sourced from local businesses by our very own wee hands (also those of our Dwarven brethren, as we oft defer to them in matters of earthern stone).

Bookmarks We offer an assortment of Bookmarks ranging from: engraved, hand-painted acrylic, and custom designed hand-burned wood, to metal alloy bookmarks finished with assorted inclusions, and UV resin.

Prismcasters (suncatchers) Our prismcaster offerings vary, utilizing the following elements: refractive prism caster window cling (adhesive free), glass crystal, rainbow prism crystals, assorted gemstone, glass and acrylic beads, vinyl, rainbow window cling, wooden slices, epoxy resin, preserved flora and fauna, assorted threads/strings, metal components (when utilized) stainless steel.

Multi-Media Art Pieces From time to time we will offer individual multi-media art pieces based on the theme of one of our collections. These are true multi-media and include a vast assortment of materials, including: resin, acrylic, gemstones, crystals, glass, beads, nature findings, acrylic paint, watercolour paint, micas, and glow pigments.

Care tips for preserved flora and gemstone jewelry

Please keep in mind that although we intend our jewelry to be durable it’s best practice to treat your precious piece(s) gently - this is especially the case with natural gemstones and preserved floral pieces.

Avoid soaps, lotions, hair products, extended contact with water/sunlight, and dropping. Clean gently with a polishing cloth - do not use chemical cleaners as they will damage your jewelry.


DISCLAIMER: Small pieces pose a choking hazard. Jewelry is not a toy, and is not intended for children under the age of 16.

 

Payment

We currently accept all major credit cards and Paypal payments.

 

Shipping

We do our best to ensure timely processing of orders, however please allow 1-2 business weeks from the time of purchase to shipping.

As we are a small business we can only work as quickly as our hands allow, and due to the custom, and handmade nature of many of our products this takes time. We'd far rather you wait a bit longer and end up with a quality piece opposed to rushing something out that we aren't happy with. We appreciate your understanding with this.

* Keep in mind that many of our items are made to order which can also add to this timeframe (estimated processing/timelines are listed with applicable items).

* At this time we do not accept Rush Orders, please be mindful of timelines when placing your order.

Due to recent UK tax/import changes we are currently unable to ship to the UK. If/When this changes we'll let you know. 

*If you’re interested in our work and are within the UK please send us a message, we’re happy to look into options on a case by case basis.

 

Cancellations/Refunds/Exchanges

Due to the custom handmade nature of our products, as well as occasional product fulfillment outside of our studio (utilizing manufacturer partners) we are unable to provide refunds or exchanges. However if there is an issue with your order such as: damage or defect please get in touch and we'll do our best to get it sorted.

All damage and/or defect claims must be submitted within 3 days of receipt of product(s), and include photos. It's helpful if you have photos of how your item arrived, such as damage to boxes/packets/mailers etc. Beyond this time frame we are unable to be of assistance.

In fairness to everyone who's interested in our work, (the nature of which is limited run, handmade items) and because we are a small studio we cannot accommodate order cancellations. Please be mindful of your budget when ordering, and keep in mind that there are other critters trying to conjure our pieces - cancellations take that opportunity away from others.

Tracking

We recommend choosing a shipping option that provides tracking, this is the best way to ensure the safe delivery of your item(s). If the customer chooses not to attach tracking to their order there is unfortunately nothing Selkie Cove can do if the order is lost or damaged in transit as there's no "backup" to provide the shipping company, or oversight on delivery times.

* All of our custom sculpted/painted figures (Critters of the Cove) automatically ship with tracking. This is our way of supporting your new magical friend getting home safe and sound.

Tarriffs & Duty(s)

Selkie Cove is not responsible for any Tariffs or Duties enforced by border authorities, these amounts must be paid by the customer. If the customer refuses delivery due to these costs Selkie Cove is not responsible for re-shipping or refunding the cost of: the product, the shipping, the aforementioned Tariffs and/or Duty(s).

 

Furbabies

Although we do our best to ensure every package is floof free we do allow our furry teammates access to the studio. Please keep this in mind when ordering, and if you happen to be lucky enough to receive a sprinkle of floof please know it was sent with love.
